It's pretty good! The minigame loop is surprisingly compelling, which I suppose makes sense considering my temperament. I inherently want to optimize my action economy and whatnot, so a game about doing that works for me. Fun, loose aesthetic too.
I think the story starts to crumble once the (bizarrely long) church sequence happens. I felt like earlier stuff was setting up the Jesus angle as a smidge more sinister or at least well-meaning-but-unhelpful, but it's played... completely straight?
(For the record, I never once used the extra ability you get from it. Didn't need it.)
That's where it feels like the game shifts from semi-autobiographical to just straight-up autobiographical. For me, it caused the sense of applicability to lose some steam, though this is probably also due to personal upbringing reasons. There's still pathos in that final chapter for sure. Oh nooooo now it's merely a 4-star game instead of a 5-star game.
